Rebellion Poem – Economic Rebel

John Maynard Keynes was a smart economist,

But during his lectures, he left in the midst.

He once told us to boost the GDP

by buying bonds to increase money.

Government purchasing causes tons of debt,

but Keynes one said, “I will never regret.”

As money supply increases, so will inflation,

So who’s in trouble? Of course, the whole nation.

So why would you inject all that money?

That just makes everyone’s eyes go runny!

Because when the bubble pops,

the economy just drops!

So why follow Keynes’ Economics?

You’re just adding more risk!

Starting from now, just follow Hayek’s plan,

because in Economics, he is the REAL man.

Edit: No hate towards Keynes. I was trying to make something funny out of Keynesian theory.

  1. Very educational. Before reading this, I had absolutely no idea who John Maynard Keynes was. However, his rebellious ways of thinking and your unique structure captured my attention. It is also fascinating how you used words such as runny in your poem. It makes the whole thing more light hearted but also meaningful at the same time. Overall, this poem is really well written. Nice work!
